  • The DPO (data protection officer) role;
  • The role of certifications in proving compliance;
  • Transferring personal data outside the UK;

Please be aware that although this is an introductory course, it delivers a large amount of relatively complex content in one day. We recommend that all learners read the brief pre-read information that is made available 20 days before the start of the course.

Exams and qualifications

GDPR Foundation exam

Attendees take the ISO 17024-certificated UK GDPR F exam set by IBITGQ
(International Board for IT Governance Qualifications). There is no extra charge for this exam.

The course supports professional development, and delegates who pass the included exam are awarded the ISO 17024-certificated UK GDPR Foundation (UK GDPR F) qualification by IBITGQ.

How will I receive my exam results and certificates?

  • Provisional exam results will be available immediately after completing the exam. Confirmed exam results will be issued within ten working days from the date of the exam.
  • Certificates for those who have achieved a passing grade will be issued within ten working days from the date of the exam.
  • Results notifications and certificates are emailed directly to candidates by the relevant exam board; please note that hard-copy exam certificates are not issued.

Do I need proof of identity to take the exam?

Delegates must provide a form of photographic ID as the invigilator my request to check it prior to the exam.

Can exams be retaken?

Yes, if you are unsuccessful on the first attempt, you can retake the exam for an additional fee. You can email us to schedule the retest.

CPD (Continuing Professional Development)

This course awards 7 CPD points, which are accredited by the CPD Certification Service.

I found the foundation course to be extremely informative. I do feel that it could have been carried out over 2 shorter days, as its a long time to spend online on one topic. IT's a lot of information to consume and I would recommend ensuring you have read your course material and even doing a bit of your own research to familiarise yourself with the subject.

An excellent course as an introduction to fundamental knowledge. My suggestion would be to complete this alongside the practitioner course - a lot of the questions and discussions held ended up with "that will be covered in the practitioner course" as an answer.

Fantastic coverage of the GDPR, led by a very knowledgeable instructor who could provide real life examples to contextualise the theory. The course was well structured, but be warned - its a lot of information for one day. Im sure it will take a couple of days of private recap over the excellent materials provided to cement this learning.
